Mills studied digital and film photography in the 2018–19 cohort of The Studio Museum in Harlem's annual residency program Expanding the Walls: Making Connections Between Photography, History, and Community. In which his work was showcased in the “We Found Us: Expanding the Walls 2019” exhibition presented in partnership with The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Mills work shows the marriage between light and frequency. Being a New York native, mediums such as Music, Fashion and Filmmaking serve as the backdrop for this film canvas. Working with artist such as Jaden Smith for MSFTSrep, Mills has been able to balance the color scale from monochromatic , borderline noir; to the color collages inspired by “Trippy Summer”
